RRS will hold a recycling and document shredding event 9 a.m. to noon March 5 at the Upper Milford Fire Company, 6341 Chestnut St., Zionsville. This event is a fundraiser for A Kidney for Audrey. Most items can be recycled free of charge; some items can be recycled with a fee. Document shredding will be done on site for a flat rate per box. More information is available on macungie.pa.us.

Concordia Lutheran Church, 2623 Brookside Road, will hold Ash Wednesday services 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. March 2. Lenten Worship services will be held 7 p.m. March 9, 16, 23 and 30 and April 6.

There will be a penny party and basket raffle starting 1 p.m. March 13 at Macungie Memorial Park. Doors open 11 a.m. Proceeds will benefit PA Caring Hearts Rescue.

The Horlacher Chapter Spring Breweriana Show for beer cans and brewery advertising will be held 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 19 at Macungie Memorial Park.

There will be a Jump Into Spring Vendor and Craft Fair with food, beverages, games, vendors and crafters 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 26 at Macungie Memorial Park.

There will be an Easter Shopping Eggstravaganza 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 2 at Macungie Memorial Park.

Grace Lutheran Church, 28 W. Main St., offers its free community meal as a drive-up option. The next meal will be 4-5:30 p.m. March 11.

Grace Lutheran Church holds a weekly food distribution 2-4 p.m. every Wednesday consisting of bread, baked goods and free items. Additionally, there will be personal care items March 16 and two bags of pre-packed groceries March 23. Signs will be posted with directions for parking and pickup.

Macungie Park will hold an Easter Egg Hunt 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. April 10 at Macungie Memorial Park. There will be egg spoon races, food trucks, bounce houses and prizes. The Easter bunny will be available for pictures. There will be a charge for admission.

The Lower Lehigh Lions will hold its annual Spring Flea Market/Garage Sale 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 7 at Macungie Memorial Park.

Macungie Borough Council has resumed regular in person public meetings at the Macungie Institute. The next meetings will be 7:30 p.m. March 7 and 22 and April 4.

My husband checked out the directions before heading out to take Ben to a tennis lesson. He said to Ben, “I think I’ll follow Google maps today instead of taking a Dad-cut.” Ben looked thoughtfully at Matt and replied, “I think that would be a good idea.” My husband’s reputation for shortcuts precedes him!
