Ironton Rail Trail Commission has organized a spring historical walk for March 19. The event will begin 9 a.m. and will end 1 p.m. Meet at the barn at 4041 Chestnut St.
IRT volunteers Bob Abbott and Ray Bieak will present at least 23 historical sites and landmarks. The walk is approximately 7 miles. Remember to wear comfortable shoes and bring water, a camera and binoculars.

There will be a community egg hunt, starting 10 a.m., April 9 at Whitehall Parkway, 4689 S. Church St.
“More than 500 toy-filled plastic eggs will be hidden, including several prize eggs,” according to the township website.
The egg hunt will include three age groups - under 5 years old, 6 to 8 years old and 9 to 10 years old.
If you would like to participate, you must register between 9 a.m. and 9:45 a.m. the day of the event at the site.

Mark your calendar for the free annual fishing derby, sponsored by Whitehall Township Recreation Bureau. The event, which is open to children 15 years old and younger, will be May 28 at Hokendauqua Park, 3417 Lehigh St.
Registration will be 8-8:45 a.m., and the contest runs 9 a.m.-noon.
More than 100 trout will be stocked. First-, second- and third-place awards will be given in four age groups - 6 years old and younger, 7 to 9 years old, 10 to 12 years old and 13 to 15 years old. There will also be a prize for the overall biggest fish.
You must bring your own bait and tackle.
Refreshments are provided by Hokendauqua Park & Playground Association.
