Coplay: Common Bond to perform at American Club of Coplay dance
American Club of Coplay is planning a dance night featuring Common Bond March 4 at the pavilion, 300 Cherry St. Doors open 5 p.m., and Common Bond performs 7-10 p.m.
Tickets are on sale at the club, 32 N. Third St. The ticket price is reduced if bought in advance.

The last day to sign up for the 2022 Coplay Sports baseball season for ages 5-15 will be noon-2 p.m. March 5 at the Coplay Sports field house, 666 Potter Terrace. Online sign-ups are at coplaysports.org.

The soup, bread and discussion program restarts 6-7 p.m. March 9 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 18 S. Third St. This is a fellowship event and features a simple soup and bread meal and a discussion of current events.

Coplay Saengerbund, 205 S. Fifth St., is holding a St. Patrick’s Day event 3-6 p.m. March 13, with music by John and Marie. The O’Grady Quinlan Academy dancers will make a guest appearance 4 p.m.

St. John’s is holding a baked ziti dinner for pickup that includes a salad, applesauce, dinner roll and dessert March 19.
The church is also holding its famous filling sale for pickup April 8 and 9.

Coplay Mayor Stephen Burker is developing a “staycation” document containing all the activities a Coplay resident can enjoy throughout the summer without leaving the borough.

The Coplay Community Days committee elected Bill Loy, operator of Sam Owens Restaurant, as co-chair of the committee for 2022. Co-chair Burker expects this year’s edition of the event to be dynamic with quality entertainment.
“I expect a great festival and look forward to working with Bill Loy,” he said.
Loy replaces John Schreiner, a longtime co-chair who died last December.

St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 4 S. Fifth St., is seeking volunteers to make pierogies.
