Bonita L. Cocivera, 89, died Feb. 22, 2022. She was the wife of Roger Cocivera.
Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Beatrice (Hahn) and Paul Scheirer.
She was a 1950 Whitehall High School graduate, where she was a head majorette.
She was a switch board operator at Bell Telephone in the early 1950s.
She attended the Allentown Women’s Club.
She volunteered at the American Cancer Society and was honored as a Volunteer of the Year. She later was on the board of directors.
She was an active member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Fullerton.
She is survived by a daughter, Shelly and husband Philip Robinson of New Jersey; a son, Todd and wife Judy Cocivera of Whitehall; three grandchildren, Chris Rowe, Jeremy Brogna and Saniyah Robinson; and a brother-in-law, Owen Eberhart.
She was predeceased by a sister, Judith Eberhart.
There will be a calling hour 2-3 p.m., followed by a dedication 3 p.m. with a buffet dinner afterward, March 5 at the church, 575 Grape St., Whitehall. Properly worn face coverings and social distancing will be required.
Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, the American Heart Association or to the church.
