Behind the curtains hides news of the official announcement that the Freedom theater company made this month, declaring that Curtains tickets will launch March 1. For the first time in three years, they will be hosting the spring musical to a full audience. You won’t want to miss this event.

Through new experiences and different teaching approaches, the Patriots got fresh perspectives on material applicable to their lives. Pennsylvania Army National Guard visited Freedom and directed the PE courses for a day, informing and enlightening the students on any inquiries. In the health classes, Mrs. Alozie also did some illuminating work. She the health classes the film “42” and taught them about one example of black excellence to showcase Black History Month.

In terms of academic achievements, special congratulations to seniors Ana Reis and Ciana Feliciano for being recipients of the YWCA Bethlehem Educational Empowerment Scholarship. The Freedom family is proud of the hard work the young ladies put in to win such an honor.

Sports at Freedom have been thriving as well. The boys wrestling team includes four Pates who

recieved medals at the highly competitive Junior High District XI Tournament. Ivan Bonilla received third place; Daniel Schiffert, fourth place; Nick Lyden, fifth place; and Keenan Ray, eighth place. Jomar Medine received third place in the JV districts; Miles Turner and Nick Farrel, fourth place; and Samuel Acevado, fifth place.

Once again, it has been another safe and successful month. We hope to continue this pattern, as spring is right around the corner.
