Jenny-Lou Fisher

Jenny-Lou Kemmen Fisher, 79, of Kempton, died on Feb. 16, 2022, at home.

She was the loving wife of Dr. Larry Fisher for the past 50 years.

Born in Bryn Mawr, she was the daughter of Hugo and Helen (Barnes) Kemmen.

A 1960 graduate of Lower Marion High School, she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in anthropology, including a history teaching certificate from University of Pennsylvania.

She taught for 11 years at Radnor High School.

She and her husband married in 1971, and later moved to State College where her husband served as assistant director of the Penn State Band program. She then earned her M.Ed. in reading development from Penn State University where she was employed part time as a tutor for some of Joe Paterno’s football players.

She was a reading specialist for Pocono Mountain School District while her husband was professor of music history and department chairman at East Stroudsburg University.

They both retired in 2001 and built a home in Albany Township, near Kempton.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter Amy S. (Ryan) Thompson of Media; son, Kurt (Christine) Fisher of Nazareth; and three grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her brother James Kemmen.

In accordance with the family’s wishes, there will be no formal services at this time.
