Bethlehem hockey ties Solehi, postseason up next

Bethlehem Ice Hockey skated its way to a 4-4 tie with Southern Lehigh on Feb. 14, the last game of the regular season, at Bethlehem Municipal Ice Rink.

Bethlehem struck first on a goal by Richard Giering, assisted by Matthew Ingram.

Southern Lehigh tied things up in the first period on a goal by Jack Cacace on a power play, and Patrick Laughlin and Clay Chemitz had the assists.

In the second period, Southern Lehigh’s Anthony Greco and Laughlin gave their team a two-point lead. Greco’s goal came on a power play with assists by Colton Balco and Aiden Pail.

Bethlehem scored three consecutive goals in the third period.

Ryan Hathaway had the first goal on an assist by Ingram, and Justin Musella scored twice on power plays, assisted by Stephen Callaghan and Hathaway.

In the last 13 seconds, Cacace saved a loss for Southern Lehigh on a goal assisted by Laughlin.

Bethlehem goalie Aidan Swenor made 22 saves, and Southern Lehigh goalie made 19 saves.

Bethlehem (11-3), the number-two seed in postseason play, will take on Central (10-4), the number-three seed, on Friday night at Whitehall.
