The Rev. Roy H. Koehler Jr., 79, of Walnutport, died Jan. 13, 2022, at Lehigh Valley Hospital Inpatient Hospice Care, Allentown. He was the husband of Roseann (Zimmerman) Koehler for 48 years.
Born in Kreidersville, he was a son of the late Roy H. and Pauline (Petko) Koehler Sr.
He was a Coplay High School graduate. He earned a bachelor’s degree in social services from Temple University and a master’s degree in divinity from Gettysburg Seminary.
He was in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
He was clergy for several churches before becoming pastor of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Mertztown, for 12 years before retiring in 2005. From 2010 to the present, he was interim pastor at Trinity Lutheran Church, Lansford.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Andrea R. Koehler and Amy R. and her husband Louis Weiner; two sons, Ryan N. and Lee M. and his wife Raquel; six grandchildren, Kyle, Jacob, Charlotte, Danielle, Dante and Sabrina; two sisters, Laura Carney and Beverly and her husband Alex Lubenesky; nieces; and nephews.
He was predeceased by a sister, Caroline Gardner; and a nephew, John.
