Robbery of a motor vehicle

Asa Josiah Blunt, 22, of Macungie, was taken into custody for robbery of a motor vehicle after he allegedly took a car from a motorist who was parked at CVS, 3295 Route 100, Lower Macungie Township, 8:55 p.m. Feb. 11, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. A media release outlined the incident as follows: Blunt allegedly approached a motorist in a vehicle and requested a ride. The motorist denied the request and Blunt allegedly stated, “as a matter of fact, give me the car.” Blunt’s left hand allegedly was in the front pocket of his jacket and the jacket was “protruding away from his body” toward the motorist, according to authorities. The motorist, of Allentown, believed Blunt had a weapon although none was seen. The motorist took his young daughter from the vehicle before Blunt allegedly got in the vehicle and fled the scene. The vehicle was spotted in Upper Macungie Township approximately 45 minutes later and Blunt was apprehended without incident, according to authorities.

Statuary rape/sexual assault

Pennsylvania State Police investigators were dispatched to a residence on Overlook Drive near Indian Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, 5:45 p.m. Jan. 18 for an alleged sexual assault of a minor, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. Investigators discovered a minor was allegedly sexually assaulted Dec. 31, 2021.

Theft from vehicle

A catalytic converter was removed from a vehicle parked at a location on Schantz Road, Lower Macungie Township, sometime between Jan. 1 and Jan. 21, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

Drug possession

A juvenile student allegedly brought a vape pen containing tetrahydrocannabinol, also known as THC, oil and a pack of cigarettes to Lower Macungie Middle School, 6299 Lower Macungie Road, Lower Macungie Township, Jan. 31, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

A 31-year-old male, of Collegeville, was arrested for alleged possession of drugs at the intersection of North 11th and Green streets, Emmaus borough, 10:48 p.m. Jan. 1, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

DUI

A 50-year-old male, of Breinigsville, allegedly was found to be driving under the influence after a traffic stop at Buckeye Road and Emma Avenue, Upper Milford Township, 1:34 a.m. Jan. 23, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

A 26-year-old female, of State College, was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence after a one-vehicle accident at the intersection of Riverbend Road and Country Club Road, Lower Macungie Township, 2:04 a.m. Jan. 1, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

Identity theft

A resident of Pleasant Avenue, Lower Macungie Township, learned multiple credit card accounts were opened using his personal information, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported Jan. 10 and remains under investigation. The fraudulent accounts were deactivated and credit bureaus were notified.

A resident of Greenmeadow Drive, Lower Macungie Township, learned several attempts had been made to access his bank accounts during January, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. A credit card account also was opened in the resident’s name but has since been closed. The incident was reported Jan. 20 and remains under investigation.

A resident of Spruce Road, Lower Macungie Township, learned her personal identification was used to apply for unemployment benefits after she was contacted by her employer about an application made, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported Jan. 17. The employer told the resident benefits were applied for Jan. 9.

Scam

A resident of Woodmont Circle, Lower Macungie Township, told state police she received a call from a person pretending to be an Amazon worker who advised her there was fraudulent activity on her Amazon account and convinced the resident to provide personal information, including bank account information, to the caller to stop the fraudulent activity. The caller then allegedly removed $780 from the resident’s bank account, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

Theft of services

A restaurant manager told state police a party left without paying at Texas Roadhouse, 6268 Hamilton Blvd., Lower Macungie Township, Jan. 15, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

Theft

Silver coins, valued at $521.85, were discovered to be missing from a package mailed to a location on Greenleaf Circle, Lower Macungie Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The package arrived Jan. 25.

A wallet went missing from a shopping cart while the owner of the wallet was at Walmart, 1091 Mill Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, Jan. 28, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

Retail theft

A 26-year-old male, of Bethlehem, was placed under arrest for allegedly removing $131 worth of merchandise from Walmart, 1091 Mill Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, Jan. 29, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. He also was wanted on a warrant from Northampton County.

A 22-year-old female, of Breinigsville, allegedly removed $91.67 in groceries from Giant Food Stores, 7150 Hamilton Blvd., Lower Macungie Township, 12:35 p.m. Feb. 7, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

An unknown person allegedly removed sterling silver valued at approximately $300 from Hobby Lobby, 7150 Hamilton Blvd., Suite 270, Lower Macungie Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The theft was reported 1:08 p.m. Feb. 1.

A person allegedly removed $306 in groceries Jan. 21 and $277 in groceries Jan. 24 from Giant Food Stores, 7150 Hamilton Blvd., Lower Macungie Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The suspect, described as a male in his 20s or 30s, was seen taking the items after surveillance video was reviewed by store personnel. The male is seen exiting the store and getting into a vehicle operated by another person.

Harassment

A 29-year-old male, of Slatington, allegedly harassed another person at a location in the 3000 block of John Street, Upper Milford Township, 1 a.m. Jan. 30, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported in Lower Macungie Township 1:50 a.m. Jan. 30.

A 33-year-old female, of Philadelphia and a 38-year-old woman, of Stewartsville, N.J., were cited for harassment after they allegedly got into a fight at Urban Air Adventure Park, 6900 Hamilton Blvd., Lower Macungie Township, 7:09 p.m. Jan. 30, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

A person was cited for harassment after allegedly striking another person on the side of the face during a fight at a location on Rolling Green Place, Lower Macungie Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported Jan. 25.

Dissemination of intimate images

State troopers responded to Lower Macungie Middle School, 6299 Lower Macungie Road, Lower Macungie Township, 2:03 p.m. Jan. 14 after learning of an intimate image being disseminated among students at the school, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. Investigators determined an intimate photograph was sent to several students.

False alarm

State troopers responded to a burglar alarm at Life Church Macungie, 1609 Trexlertown Road, Lower Macungie Township, 3:06 p.m. Jan. 17, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. Investigators determined this was the fourth false alarm at the church within 12 consecutive months and a citation was issued.

PFA violation

A 38-year-old male, of Emmaus, was arrested for allegedly violating a protection from abuse order after he attempted to contact a resident of Robert Road, Upper Milford Township, by phone from a Lehigh County Correctional Facility, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The resident, who is a relative, received several voicemails and notices of missed calls from the male while he was incarcerated despite an active PFA order against him. The incident was reported Jan. 15.

DUI crash

A 43-year-old female, of Coopersburg, was placed under arrest for allegedly driving under the influence after a three-vehicle accident at Limeport Pike and Beverly Hills Road, Lower Milford Township, 5:59 p.m. Jan. 31, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

Bad checks

A female customer cashed a check allegedly written against a closed account at Gold Credit Union, 4703 Hamilton Blvd., Lower Macungie Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. Attempts to contact the customer by mail to the address provided in her customer profile were unsuccessful. The incident was reported Dec. 15, 2021.

Assault with bodily injury

Pennsylvania State Police troopers were dispatched to a residence in the 6500 block of Hickory Road, Lower Macungie Township, 5:15 p.m. Jan. 18 to check on the welfare of a female resident and learned the resident was assaulted two days earlier by a male, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
