Q. In what grade are you currently enrolled?
A. I’m in 12th grade at Salisbury High School.
Q. Who is in your family? Please provide the first names of your family members: parents, siblings and pets.
A. I live with my mom Terri and am also close with my dad Keith and my grandmother Faye.
Q. What is your favorite subject? Why?
A. I like English because there aren’t necessarily right or wrong answers. It’s very open-ended, and anything can be an acceptable answer if you can justify it.
Q. Have you received any special awards or recognition?
A. I am vice president of National Honor Society. I have also been on high honor roll quarterly throughout all four years of high school so far and have been awarded merit scholarships to multiple universities I’ve applied to.
Q. Are you involved in any extracurricular activities? How has COVID-19 impacted these activities?
A. I am a varsity cheerleader and work as a receptionist at Lehigh Country Club. Due to COVID-19, I had more free time this past spring and fall so I was also able to be a head softball coach for Salisbury Youth Association girls 12U softball.
Q. What is your next goal after high school?
A. I plan to pursue a postsecondary education in a business major in order to work toward a career in management.
Q. What do you consider your biggest challenge to date?
A. My struggles with my mental health have always been my biggest challenge. It’s been difficult to balance with school, work, family, friends and extracurriculars, among others.
Q. For what would you like to be remembered?
A. I hope to be remembered as someone who is inclusive of others, a hard worker and kind.
Q. Whom do you admire? Why?
A. I admire my Aunt June, because she’s always been a hard worker who never loses sight of where she came from. She’s constantly volunteering her time and skills and is always willing to help her family. I truly don’t think I’ve ever seen her sit still.
Q. Do you have any advice for your peers?
A. No matter what grade you’re in, it’s OK to not know what you want to do after high school!
