Julius P. Gomez Jr., of Whitehall, died Feb. 15, 2022. He was the husband of the late Leona (Minar) Gomez for 60 years.
He was a son of Helen (Shifchok) and Julius F. Gomez.
He was retired from Bethlehem Steel’s coke works division.
He was a founding member of several local motorcycle clubs including The Wolfpack, Phantom Riders, Zinc City, Cycle Gypsies and Gypsy Sportsman. He was a drag bike racer. He built engines on request and repaired and restored motorcycles. He had an AMA District 6 number one plate and a Drag Race Heavyweight Division trophy.
He is survived by two daughters, Helen and Ann with Joseph Kline; a brother, Tony with Rose; a sister, Helen; six grandchildren, Raymond, Michael, Christopher, Stephanie, Kyle and Cory; and six great-grandchildren, Dylan, Devin, Shane, Gavin, Hope and Colt Julius.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Susan; and three brothers, Lewis, Emmanuel and Joseph.
There will be a calling time 10 a.m.-noon, followed by a service of remembrance noon, Feb. 26 at the funeral home, 2119 Washington Ave., Northampton, 18067.
