THE LINK Trail Network has launched a new interactive map of Lehigh Valley trails on its website, THELINKTrails.com. The new interactive trail map is mobile friendly and allows Lehigh Valley residents and visitors to easily access a single online resource to explore numerous trails and trailheads across Lehigh and Northampton counties.
The interactive map provides clickable information on all current multiuse trails in THE LINK Trail Network, as well as some of the many future-planned trails in the region. Users can view detailed trailhead information for each trail, including geographic coordinates, available activities, parking details, Americans with Disabilities Act-accessibility status, bathroom locations and other amenities.
The map will help educate unfamiliar trail users on how to begin exploring the various multiuse trails in the Lehigh Valley and will be a valuable tool for avid trail users planning trip itineraries or searching for new trails to visit.
“THE LINK Trail Network’s new interactive map is part of THE LINK Trails Coalition’s continued efforts to provide helpful information to people of all ages and abilities and encourage them to use all of the beautiful trails that we have here in the Lehigh Valley,” said Claire Sadler, executive director at Delaware & Lehigh National Heritage Corridor and a partner of THE LINK Trails Coalition. “Our new interactive map is a valuable tool that all trail users can benefit from when planning their activities on the trail, including recreation, exercise, education and alternative transportation.”
THE LINK Trail Network offers more than 125 miles of trails connecting people to communities, nature, jobs, heritage and culture from the urban areas of Allentown, Bethlehem and Easton to suburban and rural landscapes across 62 municipalities in Lehigh and Northampton counties.
THE LINK Trails Coalition of partners includes Delaware & Lehigh National Heritage Corridor, Wildlands Conservancy, Lehigh Valley Planning Commission, Discover Lehigh Valley, Northampton County, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources and Pennsylvania Department of Transportation - all supported by the broader Lehigh Valley Greenways Partnership.
