Tax help available
Junior and senior accounting students from DeSales University will provide tax preparation assistance free of charge through the U.S. Internal Revenue Service’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program. The program runs through April 1. The program is for senior citizens, those with incomes below $54,000, people with disabilities, students, military and those who speak English as a second language.
To schedule an appointment, qualified individuals may call 610- 282-1100, ext. 1868. A DeSales student will return the phone call. Individuals needing assistance should bring all printed tax information and all documents pertaining to federal, state, and local taxes with them to their appointment. All in-person appointments will be conducted with all COVID-related precautions. Visitors to the DeSales campus are required to be masked.

Presidential Ambassador Scholarship applications
Up to three full tuition Presidential Ambassador Scholarships are available for 2022 to Northampton and Monroe County high school graduates. The applicants must plan to attend college full-time to pursue an associate degree.
The scholarship recognizes exceptional students who demonstrated excellence in academics, leadership, and community involvement. Recipients will have the opportunity to work with the Office of the President and other departments to develop their leadership, networking and communication skills as well as take part in community engagement, internship experiences and cultural excursions. Pesticide short course deadline March 15
Penn State Extension is offering a Pesticide Applicator Short Course for landscape professionals who are preparing to take the Pennsylvania Pesticide Applicator Certification exams. The course begins with the Core on March 21 and 23.
The event will be held at the South Whitehall Township building, 4444 Walbert Ave., Allentown. Seating is limited and pre-registration is required by March 15.
