IRISH HERITAGE EVENT: ArtsQuest presentS Sláinte, a celebration of Irish heritage Thursday, March 17, through 20. This new four-day experience is being produced in partnership with Bethlehem’s Donegal Square/McCarthy’s Red Stag Pub. The four-day festival will feature traditional whiskey and Guinness tastings, along with authentic Irish fare and a Sunday Irish breakfast. Admission to these events can be purchased now at steelstacks.org, with select discounted rates and presales for ArtsQuest members and Circle donors.

BETHLEHEM ROTUNDA EXHIBIT: “A Unique Reality,” oil and watercolor paintings by Elena Shackleton, Feb. 16 to March 29. Opening reception: 2 to 4 p.m. Feb. 27. The L.V. artist is president of The Lehigh Art Alliance and is active in mentoring artists of all ages and levels. The exhibition is sponsored by the Bethlehem Fine Arts Commission. THE CANCER SUPPORT COMMUNITY of the Greater Lehigh Valley launched on Jan. 31 a bi-monthly Image Recovery Program, sponsored by the Ryan Family Foundation. The program is designed to help people improve their body image and sense of self during and after cancer therapy. Topics: one-on-one support in nutrition; fitness; post-surgical garment services; psychosocial support; and education focused on oral hygiene, skin care, hair care, holistic practices and other areas.

NMIH EXHIBIT: The Works of a Mechanical Genius: legacy of Bethlehem’s General Superintendent and Chief Engineer John Fritz. The innovative ironmaster, founder of the American Steel Industry, built and oversaw operations at the Bethlehem Iron Company from 1860-1893. Through October. Lehigh & New England Railroad motor car display through the end of March at the National Museum of Industrial History, 620 E. Second St. NMIH plans to make the model 40B speeder car operational. Contributions to help fund the preservation of the car may be made via a donation box at the exhibit in the museum or by contacting the museum.
