LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

Camp Via for teens registration now open

Registration is open for this summer’s Camp Via, a program of Via of the Lehigh Valley.

Camp Via, formerly called Via Teen Summer Experience, helps teens with varying disabilities develop social skills and peer networks that lead to success in young adult life, career development and independence. Since 2008, hundreds of individuals have participated in this program to enhance independence at home and in the community.

Camp Via is for teens and young adults from age 12 to 21 and runs from June 13 to Aug. 19.

The program provides opportunities to participate in a wide range of activities that include job shadowing and career counseling, volunteer activities in a variety of inclusive settings, and a series of recreational and team-building activities.

Camp Via staff can set up a virtual informational session for schools, groups or organizations to talk with staff and/or families about this program. Scholarships are available.

To learn more, please contact M.Ebert@ViaNet.org or 610-628-2326, ext. 504. For a brochure and to register, visit: www.vianet.org

Via welcomes businesses and organizations to sponsor a fun day or more so that teens have a truly rewarding experience.

To sponsor, please contact Michele Grasso, VP of Development & Communications at M.Grasso@ViaNet.org or 484-893-5396.

Via of the Lehigh Valley helps people reach their full potential. In a typical year, Via provides services to 1,250 children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities living in Lehigh, Northampton, Carbon, Monroe, Bucks and Berks counties.

These services include vocational exploration, community employment, educational activities, volunteer and recreational opportunities for teens and adults and early intervention therapies and inclusive education for young children.
