Student news club meets Good Morning America meteorologist

The opportunity was spearheaded by one of the seventh grade students on the team. The 14 members of the team are seventh and eighth grade students who applied for a position in the club. Students went through an interview process and auditioned if they wanted to be on air. The studio, located in the school library, was made possible through a donation from Service Electric cable television company. The purpose of the club is to instruct students about broadcast journalism, allowing them to learn how to set up, produce and broadcast a daily student produced news show, according to a media post by the school. ABOVE: Scoop team members work in the club studio. Broadcasts are livestreamed on the St. Thomas More School Scoop YouTube Channel.
