June A. Helfrich, 84, of Allentown, died Feb. 8, 2022, surrounded by her loving family in her home.
She was the wife of the late David G. Helfrich.
Born in Allentown, she was the only child of the late Joseph P. and Mamie S. (Schantz) Nagy.
She was a graduate of Muhlenberg College and the Abington School of Nursing Care, Class of 1961.
Employed by the former Cedarbrook Nursing Home, now Cedarbrook Senior Care and Rehabilitation, for 25 years, she was night shift supervisor and director of nursing before retiring in 1986.
She was a member of Nativity Lutheran Church and the former St. Michael’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, both in Allentown.
She was a Chancel Choir member, member of church council, the Alter Guild, Sisters in Spirit, Trini-B Ringers, and enjoyed making Easter candy with the Easter Candy Ministry.
A volunteer for the Lehigh County Ecumenical Food Bank, she was an avid gardener and the “World’s BIGGEST Eagles Fan.”
Her survivors include sons David J. and his wife, Kelly Helfrich, of Topton, and Robert J. and his wife, Barbara Helfrich, of Allentown; daughters Sally A. Beck of Allentown, Susan M. and her husband, Barry Diehl, of Allentown, and Sherri A. Helfrich of Fleetwood; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by one grandchild.
