Two residents are taken to the hospital after carbon monoxide is detected in a home

Two people were taken to the hospital after first responders suspected carbon monoxide to be in a residence in the 3000 block of Miriam Drive, Upper Milford Township, Feb. 2. In an email to The Press, Karl Fegley, fire chief of the Vera Cruz Fire Department, says an Emmaus Ambulance crew was dispatched to the Upper Milford Township residence in answer to a call for a sick person 5:36 p.m. Feb. 2. Ambulance personnel notified emergency communications fire department assistance was needed for possible carbon monoxide in the residence. Fire crews from Vera Cruz, Upper Milford Township and Emmaus were on the scene by 5:53 p.m. ABOVE: Firefighters from area companies are on the scene in Upper Milford Township.

Two people were taken to the hospital by Emmaus Ambulance crews. Two pet dogs present at the time were accounted for, according to Fegley.
