Allentown Health Bureau
Narcan available Fridays Feb. 4 to March 4
The Allentown Health Bureau along with St. Luke’s University Health Network and Treatment Trends will provide free Narcan (naloxone) to the community.
Naloxone is a medication that does not harm the individual it is administered to and is used to reverse an opioid overdose by blocking the effects of opioids on the brain.
Through this partnership, St. Luke’s will be providing Narcan supplies for Treatment Trends Certified Recovery Specialists to distribute in the lobby of the Allentown Health Bureau, 245 N. Sixth St., Allentown.
Distribution will take place Fridays between Feb. 4 and March 4. Distribution hours are 1 to 2 p.m. or until supplies are gone, according to a media release from the City of Allentown.
There are no residency requirements to receive Narcan.
Recovery support services will also be available on-site.
