Lehigh Valley Zoo, 5150 Game Preserve Road, Schnecksville, will have its 11th annual Otter Bowl Feb. 12.

Join zoo staff at 11 a.m. when they will be sending their North American River Otter Luani out on exhibit to make his prediction at who will win this year’s Big Game.

The zoo is putting a twist on Valentine’s Day again this year with the name a cricket after your ex at the Bug Off program.

Make a small donation until Feb. 14 to name one of the zoo’s feeder crickets, which will then be fed to some of the zoo’s ambassador animals.

They will then post weekly Facebook videos until Valentine’s Day with all the previous week’s named crickets being fed to some of the ambassador animals.

The animals get a tasty and enriching meal, while you learn some educational information about the animals who are being fed and the ability to start Valentine’s Day with a clean slate.

To name a cricket, go to lvzoo.org/bugoff.

Adults 21 and older, may reserve now for a dining opportunity with Bean, the zoo’s resident Linnaeus Two-Toed Sloth March 2 and 16.

Enjoy an elegant meal of wine, appetizers, and entrée for two in the zoo’s Bison Room.

Bean and his animal expert caretakers will be around before dinner to offer an up-close animal mingle experience and provide information about this rain forest resident.

Due to COVID-19, properly worn face masks are required at all times during this event unless seated and actively eating.

Tables are extremely limited, so book a reservation at lvzoo.org.
