Madeline Mae Reiner

Madeline Mae Reiner, 87, of Slatington, died Feb. 4, 2022, in her home.

She was the wife of the late Allen D. Reiner.

Born Oct. 20, 1934, in Walnutport, she was the daughter of the late Elwood O. and Irene L. (Nicholas) Rehrig.

She was a nurses aide at Cedarbrook Nursing Home, South Whitehall, for 15 years before retiring.

She enjoyed gardening, especially tending her flower beds, playing Yahtzee, bird watching, and interacting with her dogs and cats.

She loved selling mums, pumpkins and corn on the cob with her husband.

She felt a calling to help the elderly in her neighborhood, as well as spending precious time with her grandchildren.

She always looked forward to the friendships made and good times she had as a member of the Red Hat Society.

Her survivors include children Sharon Malia (Joseph) of Macungie, Susan Reiner, with whom she resided, Sheila Rosinski (Edward) of Midlothian, Va., and Scott Reiner (Evelyn) of North Fort Myers, Fla.; grandchildren Melissa Santos (Alex), Seanna Malia, Nicholas Rosinski (Olivia), and Douglas Rosinski; step-grandchildren Brian Malia (Alison), and Victoria Cooper; great-grandchildren Alena Santos and Juniper Rosinski; step-great-grandchildren Jared Santos and Owen Malia; siblings Nancy Seitzinger of Whitehall, Patricia Stahley of Fogelsville, and Linda Asbath of Northampton; and 14 nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a step-grandson Michael Malia; sister Janet Rehrig; and brother Arthur Rehrig.

Her service will be private, at the convenience of the family. There will be no public calling hours.
