John Boisitz

John Boisitz, 87, of Allentown, died Feb. 5, 2022, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.

He was the husband of Patrice L. Fabozzi and the late Theresa (Zach) Boisitz.

Born Oct. 8, 1934, in the Bronx, N.Y., he was the son of the late John and Stella (Krupf) Boisitz.

He faithfully and honorably served in the U.S. Army as a Ranger during the Korean War, during which he was awarded a Purple Heart.

A lifelong brewer, he was employed at several breweries throughout his life.

Most notably, he was employed at the former Knickerbocker Brewery in New York, where he worked alongside his father.

He retired from the former Stroh Brewery, Fogelsville, where he served multiple terms as the Teamster Local Union president.

He was a former member of St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, Orefield.

He loved to spend time with his family and friends, travel, gamble and was an avid reader.

In addition to his loving wife, Pat, he is survived by children Stefanie B. Wexler and her husband, Keith, of Allentown, and John Kenneth Boisitz of New York; granddaughters Emma Grace, Quinn Theresa, and Victoria Elizabeth; and his beloved pets.

He was predeceased by his son, Lucas Michael Lasagna.

Family and friends may pay their respects 3-8 p.m. Feb. 11 at the Boisitz residence.
