State police: Truck, train collide on Route 512

Pennsylvania State Police responded to a crash Feb. 3 on Route 512 in East Allen Township.

According to the report, a collision between a tractor-trailer and train had occurred just before 9:30 a.m. on the railroad tracks in the area of Locust Road.

Police said the impact of the crash caused the tractor and trailer to separate. The trailer’s contents, containers of goat milk yogurt, spilled into Monocacy Creek.

The driver of the tractor-trailer, a 67-year-old male from California, was transported by ambulance to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg, Bethlehem.

A stretch of Route 512 was closed for a few hours for cleanup and an investigation.

In addition to state police, Lehigh Valley Special Operations, Fastlane Towing, Hanover Township Fire Company and Norfolk Southern assisted at the scene.

No other information was available at press time.
