Michael J. Acker, 58, of Macungie, died Feb. 1, 2022, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. He was the companion of Leslie Dech for many years. Born in Allentown, he was the son of Ruth (Reinert) Acker, of Alburtis and the late Sterline Acker.

He was a member of Huff’s Union Church, Alburtis.

He worked as a welder for Dana Inc. and an electrician for Wetzel Enterprises. He worked for Nestle Waters as a forklift operator and lastly, he worked at Mack Trucks.

He will be remembered as an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a member of the Alburtis Rod & Gun Club and the Nimod Fish & Wildlife Association, Alburtis.

He is survived by his mother; companion; sons, Derek M., of Salt Lake City, Utah, Kyle M., of Kutztown; brothers, Glenn S. and his wife, Cheryl, of Orefield, Scott A., of Hedgesville, W. Va.; sisters, Diane R. and her husband, Robert McHugh, of Allentown, Lisa M. and her husband, Chris Allen, of Emmaus; many nieces and nephews.
