Ruthann J. Rittle

Ruthann J. (Strohl) Rittle, 73, of Fullerton, died Jan. 19, 2022, in Lehigh Valley Hospital.

The wife of Edward A. Rittle, the couple celebrated 52 years of marriage.

Born Feb. 7, 1948, in Coaldale Township, she was the daughter of the late Roger R. Strohl and Frances J. (Snyder) Deganich.

A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she took great pride and joy in her family.

She enjoyed taking daily walks in the neighborhood and conversing with clients at her husband’s business.

She loved and enjoyed day trips to the casino with friends and family, as well as vacationing in Wellsboro, especially during the fall foliage.

A dedicated employee for 22 years at Bon-Ton Distribution Center, before that, she was part of the wait staff at popular eating establishments in the Lehigh Valley, including Hess’s Patio, Bud’s Steakhouse and Chub’s Pub.

She was a member of St. Elizabeth Roman Catholic Church, Whitehall.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son Edward G. Rittle and wife, Christine, of Germansville; daughter Kelly M. and husband, Michael Buskirk, of Slatington; grandchildren Samantha and Jake Rittle; and Nicklaus and Brayden Buskirk; sisters Kay Shiffert of Spring Hill, Fla., Carolyn Graver of Lehighton; brothers Roger Strohl Jr., and wife, Ann, of Glendale, Ariz., Richard Strohl and wife, Patricia, of Lehighton; and nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her sister, Donna Stremensky.

Her Memorial Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Feb. 7 in St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church, 618 Fullerton Ave., Whitehall, where her family will receive guests beginning at 9 a.m.

Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her name may be made to the Cancer Support Community of the Greater Lehigh Valley.
