Phyllis J. Wetzel, 90, of Allentown, died Jan. 22, 2022, in Lehigh Valley Hospice, Allentown.
She was the wife of the late Kermit G. Wetzel, who had died in 2005.
Born in Cetronia, she was the daughter of the late Earl M. and Edna P. (Shellhammer) Schantzenbach.
She was a longtime member of Cedar Lutheran Church, South Whitehall.
In addition to being a housekeeper, she was the bookkeeper/secretary for her husband’s contracting business.
She also was an Avon sales associate and a dedicated supporter of her husband’s longtime volunteer firefighting career, in addition to being a charter/lifetime member of the Cetronia Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.
She enjoyed crafting, painting and playing the organ and piano.
Her survivors include a son Daryl Wetzel and wife, Betty, of Lenhartsville; daughter Kathy Shoemaker and husband, Robert, of Alburtis; grandchildren Jenna Sell, Justin Shoemaker, and Wade Wetzel; and great-grandchildren Keira, Brady, Leyton, Hudson and Marlowe.
