Oliver R. Blose

Oliver R. “Ollie” Blose, 91, of Allentown, died on Jan. 31, 2022, in Lehigh Valley Hospice Inpatient Unit, Allentown.

He and his wife, Althea G. (Rabert) Blose, were married 71 years.

Born April 12, 1930, in Neffs, he was the son of the late Oliver C. and Helen M. (Krause) Blose.

He was the office manager and purchasing agent at J.W. Goodliffe and Son, formerly in Allentown, for 35 years before retiring in 1991.

He was a member of UCC Greenawalds, South Whitehall.

Past president of T.P.A., Post L., Allentown, a life member of Copeechan Fish and Game Club, Schnecksville, past assistant treasurer, travel coordinator and volunteer for M.O.R.A., Allentown, he also was a member of the Parkland Trojan Alumni Varsity Club.

He volunteered for many years at Phoebe Home, Allentown, and Luther Crest Retirement Community, South Whitehall.

In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by a son, Randy A. Blose (Debbie) of Coplay; sisters Jeanette E. Griffith of Brandon, Vt., Marie A. Mark of Catasauqua, Linda M. Durback (Charles) of Allentown; brothers Harlan O. Blose (LaRue) of Lehighton, and Alton L. Blose of Northampton; grandchildren, Evan A. Blose and Jillian N. Nichols; great-grandchildren Oliver and Rhys; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by siblings Shirley E. Ringer, and Kenneth H. and Sherwood R. Blose.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Feb. 3 in Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc. 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville, with the Rev. Judy K. Brandon officiating.

Family and friends may pay their respects 10-11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Friedens Church Cemetery, Slatington.

The family requests all attendees wear face masks.
