Daniel G. Ziegler

Rev. Daniel G. Ziegler, 89, of Slatington, died on Jan. 24, 2022, surrounded by his loving family in his home.

He and his wife, Jacquelene A. (MacLachlan) Ziegler, would have been married 63 years Feb. 14.

Born June 27, 1932, in Sellersville, he was the son of the late Daniel K. and Caroline (Didden) Ziegler.

He earned his Bachelor and Master’s degrees from Wheaton College, Wheaton, Ill.; his Master of Divinity degree from Gordon Theological Seminary, Wenham, Mass. and his Doctorate of Ministry from Fuller Theological Seminary, Pasadena, Calif.

He was a minister in the Bible Fellowship Church denomination.

He served as a congregational pastor for 13 years and spent the remainder of his vocation as the director of church planting ministries for the denomination.

He was also an author and church historian.

In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his children Daniel A. Ziegler and his wife, Wendy, of Paynesville, Minn., Sarah K. Weaber and her husband, Tim, of Slatington, Rebekah C. Ziegler of Plainfield, N.J., and Stephen L. Ziegler and his wife, Robin, of Somerset, N.J.; sisters Carol Snyder and her husband, Clyde, of Gettysburg, Eleanor Ruch of Hatfield, and Marjorie Cherry and her husband, Ned, of La Mirada, Calif.; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his sister Laura Cassel.

His memorial service will be 1 p.m., Feb. 5 at Whitehall Bible Fellowship Church, 3300 7th St., Whitehall.

The Ziegler family will receive guests immediately following the service.

A private interment will be held at Zionsville Bible Fellowship Church.
