Senior center offers various classes
Lehigh Valley Active Life, 1633 W. Elm St., Allentown, has the following programs planned for February.
·Feb. 10, 17 and 24: Bring your project - knitting, crocheting or other needlework and join the “Knit and Chat Group,” 9-11:30 a.m.
Every Thursday, the group knits a little, chats a little, exchanges views on everything and learns something about each other and their talents. All levels welcome to attend. Free to members
·Feb. 10, 17 and 24: Instructor Gina will be offering a “Quilting and Sewing Group” 9 a.m. to noon or noon to 3 p.m.
Learn how to quilt, if you are a beginner. All skill levels are welcome to attend.
·Feb. 4, 11, 18 and 25: Genealogy class led by Judy Ritter Martens, 9-11 a.m.
Learn how to trace your family tree and research your roots through Ancestry.com.
Bring a laptop. if you have one or a laptop will be provided.
This program is free to members.
·Feb. 7, 9, 14, 16, 21, 23 and 28: Instructor Trisha Baker offers an arts and crafts class from 9-11:30 a.m. This class is free to members.
·Feb. 9, 16 and 23: Instructor Sue Bauder will host an “Art For Everyone” class, noon-3 p.m.
·Feb. 4, 11, 18, and 25: “Art For Everyone” with instructor Sue Bauder, 9-11:30 a.m.
Whatever medium you choose for both these classes, help is available.
Both new and advanced students are welcome to attend these classes.
·Feb. 9: Paint N Sip - “Kiss Under The Tree” with instructor Angela Faidley will take place from 6-8 p.m.
·Feb. 8, 15 and 22: Instructor Bonny Batman offers a drop-in ceramics class 9-11:30 a.m. or 12:30-3:30 p.m.
·Feb. 11: Instructor Dr. Charles Bonos presents “WWII: Biak Numfor and Sansapor” lecture/discussion, from 2-3:30 p.m.
·Feb. 25: Instructor Ted LaRose hosts “Strange Stories, Amazing Facts of America’s Past” astonishing, intriguing, hair-raising and amusing stories, from 2-3 p.m.
