The race to the postseason will come down to the stretch for two of Bethlehem’s teams, as Liberty and Freedom are in the hunt for district spots.
The Hurricanes (9-9) have four games left and need two wins to clinch districts.
Liberty has lost three out of their last four games to put them in a precarious position, including a 58-56 defeat to a struggling Dieruff (4-15) squad last week, that could prove to be a massive loss in the end if Liberty can’t close out the season with two wins.
The ‘Canes take on Bethlehem Catholic, Freedom and Muhlenberg this week before closing out the season next week against Easton.
Freedom (8-10) has a tougher task in their last four games, needing to go 3-1 in order to clinch a district berth.
The Pates have Easton (1-14), Nazareth (13-4) and Liberty this week before finishing up with Dieruff next week.
Bethlehem Catholic (14-4, 10-3) has been in the clear for awhile now in terms of postseason berths, but the Hawks are vying for EPC tournament seeding, as they came into the week as the fourth-seed.
The Hawks finish with Liberty, Dieruff and Nazareth with an opportunity to improve their conference standings, as they’re only two games back of top-seeded Pocono Mountain West (13-4, 12-1) and a game behind both Central Catholic (15-3, 11-2) and Parkland (13-5, 11-2).
