AIDSNET, Bethlehem, needs community members and professionals (lawyer, CPA, clergy, physician, etc.) who live in Berks, Carbon, Lehigh, Monroe, Northampton or Schuylkill counties to join the board of directors and help oversee the organization’s mission of building healthier communities by planning and funding HIV/AIDS care and prevention services in those six counties. COMMUNITY BIKE WORKS, Lehigh Valley, is looking for volunteers to coordinate bike drives within your family, workplace and social networks. They accept bikes in any condition. HISPANIC CENTER LEHIGH VALLEY, Bethlehem, seeks hardworking volunteers to assist with stocking shelves after Second Harvest monthly delivery 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on the third Thursday of every month. LEHIGH VALLEY ZOO, Schnecksville, is looking for volunteers to help make a visit to the Lehigh Valley Zoo an experience for their guests to remember for a lifetime. Many positions are available include docent, crafts and activities, zoo clean team member and more. Lehigh Valley Zoo is open all year 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. (November through March) and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (April through October). The minimum age to volunteer is 13. THE LEHIGH CONFERENCE OF CHURCHES, Allentown, is seeking individuals, or groups up to five, to come during the weekday to participate in the Daybreak program. The first half of the day (9 a.m. to noon) consists of life skills programming and the second half of the day (1-4 p.m.) is recreational, i.e., bingo, games. THE LITERACY CENTER, Allentown, is looking for virtual volunteers to teach or assist with teaching English as a Second Language. Volunteer two days a week, Monday through Thursday, either 9 a.m. to noon session or 6-8 p.m. session. Training and support are provided. THE WHOLE LIFE CENTER, Easton, needs strong volunteers 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays to help unload the truck from Sam’s Club, weigh each box, put food in freezers or fridge, then reload truck for additional deliveries.
