Police, churches help community

Catasauqua Police Department assisted in organizing a special program this past holiday season to help support the community. The department partnered with Bethlehem-based Elevate Foundation for Operation Rudolf.

The donation drive was held from October to the beginning of December 2021.

Local churches assisted as drop-off locations for specific items. Holy Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church collected blankets; First Presbyterian Church of Catasauqua collected toys; Revolution Church collected hats, gloves and socks; and St. Mary’s Church collected candy canes, snacks and small toys.

Items from the event’s Amazon wish list were sent to the police department.

Local families in need were able to pick up needed items Dec. 18, 2021.

Local businesses and community members helped make the event special.
