John A. David, 72, of Wind Gap, died Jan. 25, 2022, at Lehigh Valley Hospital Center, Allentown. He was the husband of Debra S. (Houck) David for 34 years.
Born in Northampton, he was a son of the late Albert and Emma (Solderitz) David.
He was a specialist in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
He was a foreman in the iron foundry of Bethlehem Steel for 30 years. He was a shop steward. He was the owner/operator of John David Concrete, Wind Gap, for 15 years until he retired in 2010.
He was a member of the Wind Gap American Legion Post 724 and the Tri-Boro Sportsmen Club, Northampton. He was a former member, vice president and sergeant-at-arms of the Plainfield Riding Club.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, John A. Jr. of Northampton and James and Shane J. of Wind Gap; three grandchildren, Zachary, Jared and Katherine; two sisters, Janet Saganowich and her husband Stanley of Coplay and Mary Horn of Albrightsville; nieces; and nephews.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Joseph and Albert David.
