Jeanne F. Daubert

Jeanne Fay Daubert, 90, a well-known local piano teacher, died Jan. 23, 2022, at home. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Ralph A. and Mildred I. (Miller) Daubert.

After graduating from Emmaus High School in 1949, she attended Kutztown State Teachers College, majoring in elementary education. While there, she began teaching piano to young children, which led to her 70-year career as a beloved piano teacher to hundreds of students in her three-piano studio. She taught children, their children and their grandchildren. She was introduced to the piano by her mother, who was her first teacher. She continued studying privately under several teachers over the following decades.

She was especially gratified by former students who returned as adults to continue their study with her. She taught many adult beginners who always wanted to learn the piano, but who never had the opportunity as a child. Many of her students became lifelong friends. Hopefully, her many students retain a song in their heart which she inspired.

A woman of strong faith, she was a life member of Solomon’s U.C.C., Macungie, having previously served as a Sunday school teacher and youth choir director. More recently, she periodically offered piano selections during church services. Over the years, she performed at recitals, concerts, school musicals, class reunions, weddings, funerals, celebrations and other special occasions.

She was a former Girl Scout leader, member of the Macungie Historical Society and an 80+ year resident of Macungie.

She loved her family, friends, dining out, trips to Broadway, Christmases in Hershey, shopping, classic movies, challenging crossword puzzles, reading novels and playing her cherished “baby grand.”

She is survived by a brother, Ralph A. Jr. and his wife, Ann; a nephew, Sean and his wife, Lyn; a great-nephew, Sean Patrick.

Memorial contributions may be made to Solomon’s U.C.C., Macungie.

Graveside services are private. Arrangements were made by the Stephens Funeral Home, Inc., Allentown.
