EHS ends January with Mr. Emmaus, Broadway Night and rescheduled midterms

Any midterms scheduled for the week of Jan. 16 and canceled due to inclement weather have been rescheduled to the week of Jan. 23. The updated midterm schedule can be found in your graduating year’s Schoology course.
The Student Government Association will present Mr. Emmaus 7-10 p.m. Jan. 27 in the EHS auditorium. The snow date is 7-10 p.m. Feb. 3.
The Emmaus High School Choral Department will hold its annual Broadway Night Jan. 28. Performances are not limited to Broadway-based acts and will include musicians, singers, bands and dancers. Refreshments and a cupcake raffle will also be offered. Further information can be found @ehschoraldepartment on Instagram.
Spanish Club is raffling tickets to a Feb. 4 Lehigh Valley Phantoms game. Prizes include four game tickets, a parking pass and private suite seating. Tickets can be purchased outside the cafeteria doors during all lunches or in Room 236. You must purchase at least five tickets to enter the raffle.
Lehigh Career & Technical Institute is now accepting applications for half-day classes during the 2022-2023 school year. Online application forms can be found on www.lcti.org/apply or in Schoology. Paper application forms can also be found in the counseling offices. These procedures are intended for those who wish to join LCTI but are not already enrolled.
Applications for the Academic Center at LCTI, which offers full-day classes, are also available in the counseling offices. Students already enrolled in LCTI but not the Academic Center should speak to their counselor if interested. All applications are due March 1.
For students in need of socially-distanced seating arrangements, the auxiliary gym has reopened during all lunches. Seats are spaced 6 feet apart. The gym may accommodate up to 80 students per lunch block.
The Chess Club is accepting new members. Meetings are held 2:30-3:15 p.m. every Tuesday in the multimedia room. Contact mzayaitzruhf@eastpennsd.org with questions. Interested students in need of transportation may sign up for the late bus.
Content Creator Club serves as EHS’ latest after-school addition, offering new opportunities for platforms such as YouTube and SoundCloud. The first meeting was held Jan. 18; students who missed this date may check the EHS announcements for upcoming meeting schedules.
The next boys varsity basketball game is an away game scheduled for Jan. 28 against Whitehall High School 7:30 p.m. in the WHS gym.
