Congratulations to Allentown Central Catholic High School student Gavin Grim on earning his Eagle Scout rank.
Gavin began his Scouting journey as a Tiger at Pack 74 before joining Pack 5 where he was a part of Scouting’s honors society - the Order of the Arrow. Gavin also attended National Youth Leadership Training and earned many merit badges. He was also a leader of the Troop as Quartermaster, Champlain’s Aid, Patrol Leader and Senior Patrol Leader. Last summer, Gavin was the Wilderness Pledge Guia when he spent two weeks hiking over 70 miles at Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico. For Gavin’s Eagle Scout project, he led an effort to upgrade the ACCHS Performing Arts Association snack bar.
Along with being an Eagle Scout, Gavin is also the drum major and a member of the cross-country team.
Congratulations to Liam Joyce, for scoring his 1,000th career point on Dec. 21, 2021, against Northampton High School. Viking Basketball defeated Northampton with a score of 59-45. Liam was also named The Morning Call Player of the Week. He scored 24 points and had 13 rebounds in ACCHS vs. Parkland game Jan. 7 at Rockne Hall. The final score was 55-53.
Congratulations to ACCHS teacher Dr. Mark Wilson, named Axalta All-Pro Teacher, which celebrates outstanding STEM teachers with the Philadelphia Eagles. Wilson was nominated by a former student and then selected as one of 10 finalists out of a few hundred nominations submitted. The award was in the amount of $2,000.
FamilyID is open to register for spring sports. All athletes are required to have a current FamilyID registration for the 2022 season, a current PIAA physical dated after June 1, 2021 and an Impact Test. Impact Tests are good for two years and are being done at home. Visit www.acchs.info/physicals for directions on at-home Impact testing. Athletes who do not have all of these items will be unable to participate on the first day of practice.
Our Viking Ambassadors, Eve Binder, Simon Ernst, Riley Horoshko, Tierna Moore, Lola Schaeffer and Jessica Magalona, visited St. Ann School in Emmaus Jan. 6. Our ambassadors gifted the eighth grade class with Viking Spirit boxes and welcomed the Class of 2026. Welcome to Viking Nation!
