Merle George Kline, 58, of Macungie, died Dec. 18, 2021, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest campus, Salisbury Township. He was the husband of Michele (Clemens) Kline. They celebrated 36 years of marriage on July 20, 2021. Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Glen T. Kline Sr. and Vaselo (Panagakos) Kline.
He was a 1982 graduate of Emmaus High School and Lehigh County Vocational-Technical School, where he completed a program in carpentry.
He was employed by Giorgio Foods as a truck driver and had previously driven for Penske, UPS Freight and Pitt Ohio Express.
He was a dedicated life member of Bethany United Methodist Church, Wescosville, where he had served as a deacon.
He was president of the Rustay-Jackson Family Reunion for many years. He enjoyed RV camping with his family, riding his motorcycle, working on home projects with his brother, Glen and spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter (the light of his life), Alesha M., at home; brothers, Glen T. Jr., of Alburtis, Carl D. and his wife, Janet, of Bullhead City, Ariz.; sisters, Ethel M., of London, Ky., Star A. and her husband, Michael T. McCool, of Boyds, Md., Barbara A. Rice, of Downingtown, M. Jean Wirtz, of Penn Valley, Calif., Roberta L. McLaughlin, of Lancaster; brothers from another mother, Brian Keck and his wife, Mary, Bret Detweiler and his wife, Jane; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a sister, Karen L. Satkowski, and nephews, Mathew T. Tosh and Kenny K.
Memorial contributions may be made to Bethany United Methodist Church, 1208 Brookside Road, Wescosville, 18106 or a charity of the donor’s choice.
No memorial service has been scheduled at this time. Arrangements were made by the Allentown Funeral & Cremations Services, Orefield.
