Doris Mae Teada, 97, of Stroudsburg, died on Dec. 28, 2021, in The Palmerton Senior Living Community.
She was the beloved wife of the late Howard W. Teada for 56 years.
Born Aug. 18, 1924, in Stroudsburg, she was the daughter of the late Earl Sr. and Edith (Detrick) Lee.
She was an active member of Faith United Methodist Church, Stroud Township, and was a Sunday School teacher for many years at the former Mount Zion United Methodist Church.
She graduated from East Stroudsburg High School and from Easton Hospital School of Nursing as a registered nurse.
While in training, she enlisted in the U.S. Army Cadet Corps.
She was employed by General Hospital, East Stroudsburg, and later by Dr. Marshall R. Metzgar as the office nurse for more than 10 years.
A devoted wife, caring mother, excellent family picnic organizer, and skilled baker, she enjoyed family camping and shopping at garage sales.
Her survivors include children Darlene L. (Teada) Slaski and husband, Paul, of Schnecksville; and Darrel H. Teada and wife, Gay, of Westminster, Md.; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by twin daughters Denise and Dawn in 1955 and by her brother Earl Lee Jr.
A celebration of her life will be scheduled at a later date.
