WHS announces HOF class for 2022

The Athletic Hall of Fame Committee in the Whitehall-Coplay School District is proud to announce its athletic hall of fame for the class of 2022.

Four individuals will be honored at the induction ceremony, which will take place on Friday, January 28, 2022 at Whitehall High School. The ceremony will be prior to the varsity boys’ basketball game between Emmaus and Whitehall, at approximately 6:45 p.m. The varsity game versus Emmaus will begin at approximately 7:30 p.m. The Hall of Fame Class of 2022 includes:

Jean Marsteller, longtime head cheerleading coach at Whitehall High School, had a much decorated career as the program leader. Most notably Coach Marsteller led her squad a 2001 National Championship and a 2014 District XI Championship and PIAA State Championship appearance, in addition to numerous Eastern PA Regional Championships.

Jeff Pammer, Class of 1976, was an inductee into the Kutztown University Hall of Fame in 1989. While at Kutztown, Pammer was a two-time 1st Team PSAC All-Star as an offensive lineman in 1979 and 1980 as well as Most Outstanding Lineman and scholar-athlete for the Golden Bears. Jeff was named All-Lehigh Valley League honorable mention in 1975.

Chris Raber, Class of 2003, excelled at basketball and baseball when he played at Whitehall. In basketball, Raber was an all-league selection his senior season. He finished his career with 985 points. His senior baseball senior he hit .567 with 6 HRs and 34 RBIs while gaining all-league status. Raber continued his baseball career at Coastal Carolina. He had a very successful collegiate career and played in the minor leagues in the New York Yankees system.

Sharon Tiwold, Class of 1980, was a leader in both basketball and softball for the Zephyrs during her career. Tiwold finished her Zephyr basketball career as a 1,000 point scorer and averaged 21.4 points her senior season. She was an all-conference player in both softball and basketball. Tiwold went on to play both basketball and softball at LaSalle and CW Post/LIU.

The hall of fame committee is also soliciting additional nominees to be considered for the hall of fame.
