Born May 9, 1960, in New York, she grew up in King of Prussia and was a resident of Allentown for the last 36 years.
The daughter of the late William G. Murphy and Eileen T. (Hartnett) Murphy, she was the loving wife of John Oplinger for 36 years.

Affectionately known as Migs, she loved spending time with her family and taking long walks around the neighborhood.
Every night, she finished the entire puzzle page of the newspaper, particularly liking the crossword and jumble.
She watched Jeopardy! nightly and always checked QVC for the day’s special value.
She enjoyed reading romantic suspense novels and the obituaries in the daily newspaper.
She tolerated her husband hosting large parties in their backyard water park, the OWP.
An avid fan of the Eagles and Villanova basketball, although she wished Coach Jay Wright would resume wearing his nice tailored suits on the sideline.
In her memory, enjoy some plain M&M’s and a glass (or two) of white Zinfandel.
She will be dearly missed by her husband; son Michael (Somer Wiggins); daughter Amy (Anthony Almes); brothers William Murphy Jr. (Cecelia “Peggy”), Thomas Murphy (Betty), and Mark Murphy (Amy Greer); and sister Theresa M. Betts (John).
