Holiday enforcement results announced

Pennsylvania State Police authorities recently announced the results of traffic enforcement for Christmas 2021.

In a media release, authorities said troopers in Troop M, which includes Lehigh, Northampton and Bucks counties, investigated 37 crashes and made 17 arrests for driving under the influence between 12:01 a.m. Dec. 24 and 11:59 p.m. Dec. 26, 2021.

The enforcement involved the following specifically trained trooper groups.

•The safety initiative Pennsylvania Aggressive Driving Enforcement Education Program trained troopers, targeting motorists who aggressively drive in a manner dangerous to members of the public, such as speeding, seat belt violations and child seat belt infractions.

• The Selective Traffic Enforcement Against Drunk Drivers and Drug Recognition Expert trained troopers specifically focused on apprehending motorists who drive while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
