Fae Alma Erney, 94, of Whitehall, died Dec. 27, 2021, in St. Luke’s Hospital, Allentown. She was the wife of the late Ralph R. Erney for 57 years.

Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late C. Harry and Annette (Mintz) Eckert.

She was a 1945 Allentown High School graduate.

She worked at Bell Telephone Company for more than 50 years.

After retiring, she volunteered at Lehigh Valley Hospital for several years. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America Club and of various area PTAs through the years.

She is survived by a twin sister, Sylvia Hafer, with whom she resided; a son, Steven J. with Rebecca of Northampton; seven grandchildren, Sean with Anne of Northampton, Michelle with Todd Swales of Phoenix, Ariz., Matthew with Christine of Zionsville, Meghan of Emmaus, Jennifer, Katelynn and Bryan with fiancee Zainab; four great-grandchildren, Lila, Brooke, Elle and Clayton; two sisters-in-law, Therese A. Eckert and Madeline F. Eckert; nieces, including Robin Dorney and her husband Kerry; and nephews.

She was predeceased by a son, Martin R.; a granddaughter, Jessica J. Erney; a sister, Dawn A. Wertman; and two brothers, John T. and Ronald M. Eckert.

Services will be private.
