Bruce A. Williams, 81, died Dec. 12, 2021. He had neck cancer when he was 62 years old and lung cancer when he was 71 years old. He was married to Christine Skubish Williams for 48 years. Born in New Haven, Conn., he was the son of Alden H. Williams and Grace B. Williams.
While living in New Hampshire, he liked girls, cars and horse shoes. He played trumpet for eight years and was class president in eighth and ninth grade.
He loved to go deep sea fishing with his father, fresh water fishing with his Uncle Ralph and was an avid bird watcher. He loved to ride motorcycles with best friend Tom Burns.
He moved to Pennsylvania in 1956 where he enjoyed hot rods, motorcycles and hated school. He joined the Army at age 18 and served for 37 months, which got extended due to the Berlin Crisis. He had a secret clearance as a radar operator, top secret for nuclear missile sites and was discharged on May 5, 1962.
He worked at Sears for five years; then ran a wheel and rim company; drove tractor trailer for Johnson Motor Lines for 9-1/2 years; worked for Liberty Bell Beverage until recently, where he drove to Baltimore, Virginia, Washington, D.C., the docks in New Jersey, New York City and Toronto, Canada.
He had two great bosses Lee Goldstein and Jacob Mesa as they were more than just bosses, but great friends and people to talk to and confide in.
He is survived by his wife; daughters, Gwenn (Dan) and Michele (Cathy), a son, Douglas; a sister, Sally Zampariolo and a nephew Andrew; granddaughters, Misty and Kacy (Mike); great-grandchildren, Jacob, Hunter, Paiton, Hayden, Willie, Timmy and Noah.
