PRESS PHOTO BY Christina Santo Visitors to Main Street heard sounds of a ringing bell, beckoning them to join the Downtown Bethlehem Association (DBA) to experience the country's only live advent calendar. The event has been going strong for 13 years, and was held nightly at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 1 through 23 at the 1810 Goundie House.
Each night, a participant from the crowd was selected to knock on the door. A special guest from a local business or organization would appear to give everyone in attendance a small gift. Participating businesses included Moravian University, Grandpa Joe's Candy Shop, Edge Restaurant, and more.
Santa Claus appeared Dec. 22 to introduce the night's presenter. The Bethlehem Parking Authority gave families two full-day parking passes for the Walnut Street garage.
