The Pennsylvania Football Writers announced their list of all-state football players last week, as the Lehigh Valley had five players selected in Classes 6A, 5A and 4A.

Freedom’s Braelin Moore was the only selection in the 6A classification, as the Virginia Tech defensive linemen was one of the most disruptive players in the East Penn Conference trenches this season.

The two-way lineman registered 64 tackles, 16 for loss, 10 sacks and three forced fumbles on the season.

In 5A, East Stroudsburg South quarterback Bobby McClosky earned his nomination by throwing for 2,190 yards and 27 touchdowns. McClosky was the leading passer in the EPC this season.

The 4A crop had three selections led by Northwestern quarterback Justin Holmes.

Holmes threw for 1,295 yards and 18 touchdowns, while collecting 1,267 yards rushing and 20 touchdowns on the ground.

A pair of linemen round out the final two selections, as Bethlehem Catholic’s Justin Kanyuk (OT) was named along with Central Catholic’s Lavon Johnson.

Johnson had a monster senior season, registering 101 tackles, 36 for loss, eight sacks and three forced fumbles.
