A New Year

A New Year has just begun.

I hope it is a better one!

The year that is leaving,

Was not very kind.

I am delighted to leave it behind!

The hatred, anger, violence and crime,

Was not welcome this year, or any time!

I look forward to love, joy and words that are kind.

And only good things to enter our minds.

I pray for goodness and mercy for all mankind!
