Potts Doggie Shop and Konkrete Creamery will hold a benefit for 15-year-old Jillian Sayre 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Jan. 9 at the eatery, 2428 Cherryville Road, and the ice cream shop, 2430 Cherryville Road. Proceeds from the event will benefit Jillian, who is battling cancer, through the Maria Mazziotta Cancer Fund.

Northampton Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4714 is seeking veterans willing to serve on its honor guard. The honor guard provides military honors, when requested by families, at veterans’ funerals, memorial services and celebrations of life.
