Matthew S. Race, 48, of North Whitehall Township, died Dec. 22, 2021, at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest. He was the husband of Michele (Hanzl) Race for 22 years.

Born in Allentown, he was the son of Florence D. (Moffitt) and the late Paul E. Race.

He owned and operated Lil’ Angel’s Childcare, Coplay.

He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Whitehall.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by a son, Ty; a daughter, Adrien R. Olsen; two brothers, Paul with Joan and Michael with Kimberly; two sisters, Brenda Crist with Earl and Mary Shaneberger with Charlie; three brothers-in-law, Scott Hanzl with Cindy, Curt Hanzl with Robyn and Barry Hanzl; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a sister, Dorothy Ellen; and in-laws, Frank and Rosemarie Hanzl.

In lieu of donations and flowers, his family would love if you would help someone in need or pay it forward.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
