Hokendauqua: WCHI to hold Jan. 9 bingo

There will be a bingo event Jan. 9 at Commitment to Family and Community, 165 Cherry St., Coplay.

Doors open 1 p.m., and bingo begins 2 p.m.

An entry fee provides you with two bingo boards. You may buy additional boards. You are asked to bring your own bingo chips.

Food will be available for purchase.

The bingos will continue the second Sunday of the month through April 10, unless otherwise noted. Funds raised from these events go toward Whitehall-Coplay Hunger Initiative programs.

In continuation of its Bob Warke-Dale Horn Scholarship program, Hokendauqua Park and Playground Association will again be awarding two $1,000 scholarships.

To be eligible for the scholarship, you must be a Class of 2022 high school-eligible graduate, be continuing your education in the fall of 2022, have participated in HPPA’s baseball, softball or basketball youth programs and complete the scholarship application form and return it to the HPPA prior to Feb. 28.

The organization will review all the applications and select one girl and one boy to receive the scholarships at HPPA’s March or April meeting.
