Richard A. Hummel, 85, of Macungie, died Dec. 20, 2021, at Parkland Manor. He was the husband of Lillian Hummel for 63 years. He was the son of the late Robert A. and Emily (Garber) Hummel, of Tamaqua.

He graduated from Tamaqua High School and served in the U.S. Navy.

He was retired from AT&T, having worked in Wayne, Washington, D.C., Arlington, Va. and Allentown.

He is survived by his wife; a son, Richard Jr. (Kim), of Macungie; grandchildren: Jamie, Jill, Jason, Brianna and Jeremy; five great-grandchildren (soon to be six); nephews, Robert, David and Glen; a sister-in-law, Daryl. He was predeceased by a daughter, Bryn Alison Smith; a granddaughter, Alicia Leigh Smith; a brother, Robert D., a nephew, Bruce and his beloved Sandy.
